Forza Motorsport promises 80s Group 5 vs IMSA crossover

The official trailer for Forza Motorsport has dropped, giving us a glimpse of the racing action contained within. What’s most compelling is that the game seems to lean heavily into actual racing machines, which leads to some interesting match ups, like seeing the IMSA Z31 Nissan 300ZX and FC Mazda RX-7 race on the same track as the Super Silhouette Group 5 DR30 Skyline and Bluebird.

We also get a recreation of prime Group C racing at Le Mans, with the JSCP Nissan R90CP going head-to-head against the Mazda 787B. Developer Turn 10 Studios says the game will ship with over 500 cars, 100 of which will have never appeared in the series before.

While the trailer leans heavily on the Corvette E-Ray and newer racing cars, it’s good to see some classics in the trailer. The game officially arrives on October 10, 2023.

Still a fan of the Forza Motorsport series and will definitely be getting this when it comes out. I just hope this time we’ll have Toyota’s road-going cars added back in! FM7 was missing so much from one of my favorite manufacturers, and it would be a shame to miss out on the MR2, Celica, and Supra in the roster again.

It won’t be Group 5 without the Schnitzer Group 5 Celica. Later, TOM’s and Trust.
    It used a 2-liter 18R-G with 560 hp.
