We are sad to report that Toyotafest 2020 has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The show, originally scheduled for June 6, was to be the 25th annual Toyotafest, a momentous occasion to be sure. So, while quarter-century celebration can be postponed till 2021, the planned celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Celica can’t.
At the show the organizers, the Toyota Owners and Restorers Club, had planned too honor 50 years of the Toyota Celica. The artwork and promotional materials for this year’s show had a Celica theme, and that includes the T-shirts that would have been included in the gift bag for all owners who displayed a car.
However, if you are still interested in this shirt, you can order one at the TORC website. It depicts the original A20, as well as ST165 and ST205 rally cars along with the original Celica dragon logo. Pre-orders end May 1, so act fast. These shirts will not be available next year.
We are sad that the show could not go on this year, but see this statement by TORC:
We have tried our best to keep the door open to have the event as scheduled, however the health and safety of our volunteers, guests and participants are a top priority, and we do not want to put anyone at risk.
It’s for the best, and a date for 2021 Toyotafest will be announced at a later date.
“Pre-order ONLY – Order Deadline April 31.”
It’s April 30th…..cutting it kinda close there……
I checked with the organizers. The April 31st thing was a typo on their site. They will honor orders up to May 1 though.
One small thing, that appears to be an ST205, not an ST185.
You’re right, corrected!
I honestly forgot that the Celica made its debut 50 years ago Just ordered the shirt to show my support.
