We are stoked to show you the latest Hot Wheels prototype, the C130 Nissan Laurel. Revealed by the design team in its metal and plastic form, it is a perfectly proportioned Butaketsu in true shakotan style.
To get the car’s shakotan stance, designer Jun Imai gave it small-diameter wheels so it would sit extremely low, like the ones you’d see cruising the streets of Japan.
We’ll have more info as the release date draws near. In the meantime, it’s safe to say the future of Japanese nostalgics in the Hot Wheels lineup is looking bright.
My favorite Laurel!
Perhaps someone will equipped with Mad Manga’s body kit and make Bosozoku Laurel.
I expect it.
I already have the Mad Manga, but this stokes me up big time!
Now we have a car that is always in my top three !!! Awesome. (There is one in 1/24, on my bench waiting for paint).
I wonder if there is any chance of C31 Laurel (preffered hardtop, but sedan would also do the job)?
They should give it some negative camber.
Its unfortunate that the 1st gen Lauren (1968-72) – big brother to the Bluebird/510 – seems to get zero love.
@M1abrams lauren? is that the laurel’s sister mayhaps?
I’m surprised enough that we got the Laurel. That’s such a underground car relative to mainstream stuff like Camaros and Skylines.
I love the little fender flares Lol.
The design team at Hot Wheels have good taste.
Well Hot Wheels’ not resting on its laurels. lol
Sexy!!!!! Can’t wait to get one 🙂
Woah! I can’t believe they’re actually going to make it!
Please tell me they’re going to label the package “Butaketsu”…and I can get one in purple with some some Devil Shadows and a Marchal yellow headlight…
The c130 Laurel was my vote for the next JNC from your october qotw post!
