The popularity of Legos had exploded in recent years, leading to many fans going beyond off-the-shelf kits and building their own custom creations. We’ve posted about Legos before, starting from back in 2013, and while the Lego renaissance was already underway then, it’s gone positively supernova in the half-decade since. Many of our favorite custom builds are JNCs, naturally, so let’s take a look at some of our recent favorites.
In Lego enthusiast parlance, these are called MOC, which stands for My Own Creation. These days, there are vast databases to help custom builders keep track of the pieces and colors available, and which factory kits to source them from. However, the driving force behind these MOCs is still the creativity and cleverness of the builders themselves.
Many of these kits have been submitted to the Lego Ideas page, where they can be voted on to enter production. Lego has several officially licensed car kits, but so far none have been Japanese. Until that happens, we’ll just have to rely on the imagination of these fans, many of whom have provided instructions online, or who will build them for you for a price. So for now, scroll down for a gallery of the web’s best Japanese cars in Lego form.

Last but not least, Toyota Australia even got in on the act, commissioning an life-size Camry built by Ryan McNaught, a Lego Certified Professional (this is a job one can get?).
The finished product took 900 hours and half a million pieces to complete.
