Takuji is a Japanese artist who places 1:43 and 1:64 scale minicars into beautifully constructed dioramas. From AE86s on touge roads to Mitsubishis tearing through a rally stage to mechanics tuning Skylines in a garage, each scene is a slice of automotive life, depicted on a desktop.
There is a clear fondness for small-displacement runabouts, off-roaders, and rally racers in the work. Starting with diecast models from Ebbro or Aoshima, the cars are sometimes customized to add detail (or dirt), and placed in meticulously composed settings. While still shots, it still looks as if action is taking place. Here are some of our favorites, but you can find many, many more at Takuji’s Instagram account, @takupon0816.

Love, love, love JNC!
However, is there anyway that you can offer larger pictures when these small ones are clicked on? I need the details!
Thank you!

Oh, I checked him out…. I want ALL THE JNC’s in stunning full sized glory! 🙂
Thanks for the great site!
Awesome stuff, I follow him on IG and he has been an inspiration to me. Working on my first real diorama now to step up my miniature photography skills.
Wow, I did not expect to see a Suzuki Fronte and a Subaru 360! Super cool dioramas, mini works of art, no question about it. I could (and, will) look at these all day (weekend).
Nice stuff!
Now THERE’S some talent! . . . And patience!
Amazing eye for detail. Love it!
Very cool. Another guy I follow on fb is Takanori Tetsuda Diecast. He has an amazing collection (lots of 1/18) and does displays and location shoots.
Got a link?
Always nice to see the work people put into these things!
I couldn’t track down a website, but here’s his facebook page:

I never even modded plastic kits back in the day beyond what was in the kit… These guys are good.

The 86 on the mountain, and the “flying” Nissan Violet…awesome.
