Monster Tajima’s Suzuki Escudo is a legendary hillclimb machine. In this Option video circa 1998, the crew follows Tajima on his quest to win the New Zealand Gold Rush in Queenstown. Of course, that in itself is worth watching the video for, but what’s also interesting are the other slabs of Nihon steel who also participated.
Just some of the machinery includes a mostly stock JZA80 Supra, Subaru’s GC8 Impreza WRX555 rally car, a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R rally car, and and New Zealand Native Rod Millen’s Pikes Peak Celica. Tajima himself even takes a run in a lower-class Suzuki Cultus Crescent Wagon before strapping into the Escudo and taking first.
I love this car! In Gran Turismo 2 it was the best cheat car to use to win races, lol.
The car itself is a monster……no pun intended
YES
One of my earliest memories of being a human is finally getting this car and winning everything with it haha
