Last week Toyota threw a party in New York celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Corolla. This is a copy of the video that was playing on loop on TVs during the event. KE10, TE37, TE51, AL10, AE86, and a bunch of FF sedans are all represented, though it’s missing a good number of generations as well.
These 80s dudes approve.
Odd that there are Tercels in there but no Matrixes or iMs.
oh, and they missed out on some of the european models too; the E11 with its distinctive front featuring srtreamlined oval headlamps was a noteworthy model that did well in WRC rallying too!
My first car was a Corolla, an AE101 model, hence the username. They may, for the most part, be desperately boring, but the Corolla has definitely proven to mean that they’ve deserved their 50 years of immense success. Keep on keepin on, little ‘Rollas everywhere.
