Hawaii, a tropical paradise with warm beaches, beautiful marine wildlife, a thriving JNC community. Tommy Dolo is the godfather of Old School Imports Hawaii, and he’s built one badass bagged Toyota Starlet.
There are plenty of all-out KP61 builds with 4AG or Beams motors and TRD flares, but Tommy’s keeps it simple and clean with a stock 4K and a TOM’s graphic theme over factory paint from 1981. Its shakotan stance is the result of an air suspension and a set of black Supras.
We love it because it creates something cool while keeping the spirit of the original car in tact. So sit back and enjoy nOeLoL‘s video and follow the advice Tommy gives when describing the 59-horsepower engine: “Hold on to your pants.”
Clean Starlet.
His channel is a gold mine, good to see you guys posting it on JNC, he deserves it.
Thanks Ben Hsu for featuring one of my Hawaii Car episodes! Had a lot of fun with this one, hope you stayed to the end of the video lol.
I saw the shout out to the Made in the 80s! Thanks for posting that, and I’ve been enjoying your channel immensely. Keep up the great work!
“I made so it looks like a stock option”. Nice!
That’s what I am talking about!
Cool! Cool! Cool!!! Very nice!
Thanks for sharing, Ben!
Being a small early eighties econobox, the Starlet is understimated for those who doesn´t know about it. For me is one of the greatest cars of the time and one of the best cars ever made by Toyota. 27 years of my happy marriage with my 1982 KP speaks for itself !!!
Getting in late, but –
Now THAT’S the kind of mods I like! Doesn’t look over the top – “riced.”
Air bags! INFINITELY better than those “can’t cross a speed bump” cars!
(On youtube, there was a Sube that got stock on a driveway entrance… AWD, and no-go…)
