Toyota of Japan is cold killing it right now with complex, perspective-shifting videos that would make even Christopher Nolan throw his hands up in surrender. First there was the girlfriend-less AE86 driver story that perfectly synced productions from three different countries. Now comes this heart-rending journey of father and daughter as they go through a lifetime of fast cuts. Try to hold back your tears as the dad watches his baby girl grow up — and is forced to trade in his Celica XX for a minivan (though he gets an Estima, which is kind of cool, and I think there’s a transitional Mark II in there briefly).
The video is, of course, an ad for Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of electronic minders, including automatic braking when it detects and impending rear-end collision. But the timing of this video couldn’t be better. Happy Father’s Day!
Wait, they got a Probox at the end?
Probox!? You blind!? Look again….That’s a Corolla Fielder!!!!
“You blind!?”
I am. Problem?
The Probox is a really cool car. Tons of clever storage spaces for the businessman on the go.
Jesus… I’m crying over here now
Hand me a tissue, will ya.
Bloody hell thats a tear jerker, hope my wife didnt notice…
My bad, I should’ve warned everyone to watch it with a bowl of chopped onions in case someone walked in on you.
:,) so sweet….
So many onions and sand… and everyone knows the Succeed is better than the ProBox.
Oh, that’s just sand in my eye… I swear.
Having had to trade in my fun daily for a Honda Odyssey for my growing kids, I can relate!
I’m glad I waited until I got home from work to watch that.
Father of twin daughters here. Awesome video, as my two are only ten right now, I still have some of these milestones ahead. VERY moving video, thank you for sharing. 🙂
