We all know the FJ40 is legendary in its off-road capabilities. It’s also one of the hottest SUVs in the very hot segment of classic SUVs that are skyrocketing in value. It’s no wonder then that a beautiful Coronado Beige example stars in a Hankook Tires spot called “Chasing Daylight,” in which a landscape photographer tackles mud, rocks, and steep mountainsides to get the perfect shot before the sun goes down. The ad has been out for a while, but we just saw it recently. Kinda makes you want to go out and conquer the world with an FJ of your own, doesn’t it?
Some day!!!
I find it curious with the continuing success of the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota hasn’t returned to the roots of the original J-series Land Cruisers. The FJ Cruiser was a retro model, but with the used prices of FJ40 series being high, there should be a business case for a Wrangler fighter.
The current Land Cruiser is essentially a Grand Cherokee, but I’m sure there would be reluctance in renaming it. Although I believe the Lexus GX is the upmarket Land Cruiser, it shows you can call it something else.
I view it just like the Toyota Corolla and the AE86.
They sell more vehicles when they appeal to your Aunt Carol.
They really should.
Yes!! Another article with a FJ 40 on it. My favorite classic 4 wheeler.
Well when you think about it, with FJ Co and Icon4X4 (and others) we really already have FJ40 ‘rebooted’.
TMC have continued to stock and produce some parts (depends on your year build).
So what would be really cool is a one of the reboot co’s getting TMC direct support to make it all happen in way that is truly Toyota.
