Listen to the rumble of Dave Scholz’s Rebello-built Datsun 240Z as he drives around Los Angeles in this gorgeous video by Petrolicious. Dave says his goal was to build a Z that someone would have driven from Yokohama to Fuji Speedway in during the 1970s, presumably to check out the touring car races. Watch the video below.
I agree with everything he said, including “getting high on the fumes.”
What dreams are for. You dream about driving it when you have one and you dream about getting one when you don’t have one.
Just awesome.
Another amazing video from Petrolicious. I can say from experience that those Rebello 3.0s are pretty quick. Every time I walk past my Z I stop and stare a few seconds, just to remind myself it’s mine.
wow great vid- the engine sounds so beast!! I wonder what it sounded like before the upgraded engine.
I just got home from work, I live 2.5 miles away and I put 45 miles on my 260z. Very therapeutic!
OMFG…
Dare to be different with less common cars, not the common and popular ones ( like the Datsun “Z”, 510 etc) but others like the Datsun B210, 710, 610, F-10 etc !!
Great car! Love it! Would that Yokahama guy have Recarro seats?
Absolutely gorgeous. My brother had this car built up in the 80’s (240z – Dave Rebello motor, Mikuni carbs) – I myself had a VW rabbit with a Rebello motor Weber carbs. Now it is 2013 and I’m thinking – I want to get back into this – especially after watching this video.
