Not to be outdone by its subsidiary Daihatsu, Toyota has its own compilation video for the Japan Mobility Show. With the tagline “To You. Toyota”, the video depicts a vast variety of Toyota cars and trucks in all walks of life. From AE86 to Yaris, Prius to Land Cruiser, the video shows just how embedded the Toyota brand is in the livelihoods of people around the globe.
What’s particularly great about this video is that the cars in it aren’t sanitized, factory-perfect examples. Many are modified in some way, others show signs of being well used. It’s not just the enthusiast cars, but Hilux farm trucks, Hiace vanlife campers, a Mooneyes-style Probox, and more. There are three customized Supras, including two different A70s. Blink and you’ll miss the Altezza. But there’s also everyday vehicles as well, like a quintessential American suburban family’s XV30 Camry.
The voiceover in Japanese translates to:
For everyone.
For the planet.
For the future. We know that matters.
But first, there’s somethingwe must move.
That is you.Toyota builds.
For you.What excites you.
What helps you.
What sets you free.To You.
Toyota.See Toyotas on roads worldwide and glimpse vehicles connecting us to the future.
It’s all a build-up to a sneak peek at the thirteenth-generation Corolla, whose concept will debut at the Japan Mobility Show. That’s a global car if there ever was one, having been sold in 150 countries and regions, and arguably Toyota’s most important model. It has with full-with LEDs front and back, hinting at an electrified powertrain.
The video must not have been easy to produce. Rapid-fire shots match the angles of different cars filmed in different countries hundreds of miles apart. The effect is entertaining and reminds us that no matter where you go in the world, you’re likely to encounter a Toyota.
