Established in 1977, Trust is an institution in the Japanese tuning world. They produce a line of high-quality exhaust manifolds for the S30 Z and L-series-equipped kenmeri Skyline, but until now those have never been officially offered in the US.
American enthusiasts looking to build a Japanese-style S30 Z often have limited options. Many of the Japanese offerings are prohibitively expensive, are worn out used parts found on eBay and Yahoo Auctions, or are simply not made with left-hand-drive cars in mind.
At the recent Japanese Classic Car Show, we met Frank Hernandez of Revmatch, who brought the Trust exhaust manifolds into the US for test-fitting on LHD cars. He told us that they fit all Datsun 240Z to 280Z models equipped with L-Series engines ranging from 2.0 to 2.8 liters in displacement. They also fit the GC110 Skyline as well, but here in the states we expect Zed heads will be the primary customers.
Apparently, the secret to its success on LHD cars is an updated flange design. Trust calls this model TR-NA and Revmatch is currently taking orders until October 27. Visit their website for more details.
I got one of these a vintage piece from a right hand drive car…I was always concerned it might not work in my left hand drive car. Mine is no longer blue and I don’t have the collector bolt on.
