Nissan’s Heritage Parts Program has announced some pretty significant parts for the R33 and R34 Skyline GT-Rs. The latest batch of revival parts includes large body panels for 1995-2002 Godzillas. This includes fenders and rear quarter panels for the R33, as well as some floorpan sections and left and right members for the R33 and R34.
In 2019 Nissan revealed how they were able to use a new technology called dual-sided dieless forming to create reproduction body panels without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in stamping dies. They’re still not cheap. A front R33 fender will run about ¥132,000 ($1,096 USD) and a quarter panel ¥198,000 ($1,644 USD), but these parts would be pretty hard to hack unless you know some master metalsmiths. Some of them are even offered for sale in the US directly from Nissan. Nissan also says that they are developing more parts with technologies such as 3D printing, but that those will be announced after 2022.
OEM front bumper turn indicator surroundings would be a great start for the 3D printing process! Can’t find those parts anywhere.
