Nissan has announced its first NISMO Performance Center outside of Japan. The facility will be located in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, about 45 minutes outside of Melbourne. Nissan states that the center will provide a direct link to the NISMO Omori Factory headquarters in Japan, with support for restoration programs.
In theory, this should make it easier for Aussies to buy NISMO parts and accessories. Nissan will also provide technical expertise from factory-certified NISMO Meisters, elite technicians that have undergone an intensive training program at the Omori Factory in Japan. Only master techs who have accumulated years of experience as top-level techs at Nissan dealerships can be selected for the training, which includes blueprinting engine components and suspension tuning using data from Nissan’s racing program.
In December 2025 Nissan announced a plan to expand NISMO, with more NISMO models and parts availability available in a greater number of markets. The push expands the restoration parts business as well, with a focus on R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-Rs with more models to follow. The plan is to expand NISMO Performance Centers into more markets so the US seems like a good bet, but there’s no official word on a stateside center yet.

Nice! Though I cannot help but wonder who pays for this operation, is it Nismo as an autonomous entity, is it Nissan Australia, if they happen to have money on the side to fund this or to earn some taxes write-off, or is Nissan Corp stretching whatever money is left in hope to break even quickly on some high-dollar restorations?
My bet is on Nissan Australia, and I still hope this Nismo Performance Center does well and spread out to other countries.
