Nissan has confirmed that it will be the featured marque at the 2018 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event celebrating vintage racing machines takes place at Laguna Seca during the Monterey Historics car week, and remains one of the most prestigious automotive events in the world. This will be the first time a Japanese marque has been honored there.
If you’ve attended the event before you’ve seen that Datsuns and Nissans are plentiful in the paddocks. Zs have had the strongest representation, but over the years a Hakosuka Skyline, a Datsun 510, and a few ZXes have made appearances as well. It’s ben clear from climbing prices that Japanese classics are becoming more accepted in traditional car collector circles, and recognition of their racing provenance will only fuel the growth. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports reunion takes place August 23-26.

This is indeed an hour for the best vehicles ever manufactured.
2019, or 2018? MRLS’s website makes me believe it’s this year.
That was a typo. It’s indeed 2018.
Well, goodness. With this on top of The Mitty (late April at Road Atlanta) it’s a great year to be a Datsun/Nissan enthusiast.
I understand it to be this year. Cannot wait to run my car on Laguna Seca!
Like Mike Anderson, I am looking forward to going back to Laguna for the Historics, what is important is that we get a good turn out for this event. It is important that we get a solid turnout at this event, because the chance for this to come around again are critical on how well we do the first time! Hope to see lots of you at this event come by and see us in the Pits we are thrilled to be there it will be a great event!
Thanks Ron, I’ll see you there!
Wish I could get the 240K touring car across to the US for this event!
Much love for the G-nose.
