Tomica is back with a line of chocolate minicars for this Valentine’s Day. The Japanese diecast carmaker is giving us six cars to drool over, with modern version of two sports car icons — the Nissan GT-R and Fairlady Z — headlining the set.
When Tomica first began making chocolate minicars in 2013 the models were all nostalgic cars — a Toyota 2000GT, Hakosuka Nissan Skyline, Honda S800, Nissan Fairlady Z432, Toyota Corolla Levin, and a Subaru 360. These days, however, the set stars the most popular modern models in the Tomica lineup.
Reflecting the real-life popularity of stylish kei cars, this includes models like retro-styled Honda N-One and Suzuki Hustler, which looks kind of like a miniature Toyota FJ Cruiser.
If you can’t help but feel that a kei car short changes you on the chocolate volume, however, there’s always the Mitsubishi Fuso Aerostar and London double decker buses. Sadly, they are not to scale but still give you maximum cocoa proportions. Choose wisely and Happy Valentine’s Day!
I got another N-ONE this year (my third). Also got a Honda VFR800 police bike once. I guess instead of a shirobai it was a chocobai?
Sweet Rides………. literally.
Of course Valentine’s Day chocolate are cars. They’re for the girls to give to guys. Now what to give for White Day next month?
