MINICARS: A metal base Hot Wheels Fairlady Z

Hot Wheels has revealed an updated Nissan Fairlady Z which has a new, metal base. The front air dam is much more pronounced, as metal-chassis cars are typically for collectors and not orange tracks, where such a chin spoiler might interfere with the movement.

Compare it here with the standard Fairlady Z casting. The original, of course, was based on designer Jun Imai’s real life S30 Z, which is undergoing some changes right now. The new version hints at some exciting news coming down the line, which we can’t wait to share with you. For now, though, this picture is your only clue.

This is great news that the Nissan fairlady Z will have a metal Base thumbs up. I will be on the hunt for this one thumbs up.

Hopefully it is not a metal base but plastic chassis which is what HW usually does on mainline cars. Unless of course this is a premium.

I’m new to this scene… how can I go about buying one of these?

    Thanks!
