We at JNC are very proud to announce that Mazda will be the title sponsor of the 2016 JNC Touge California. Mazda will bring out select heritage cars to drive along with us during the 200-mile event, and give participants a rare tour of vehicles from their vast heritage collection, which is not typically open to the public.

A statement from Mazda North American Operations released today:

Driving Matters. It’s not just a company slogan; it’s a belief that cars are meant to be driven. JNC Touge California celebrates the rich history Japanese cars have enjoyed in both California and as part of the landscape of car culture as a whole.

Mazda is proud to be the title sponsor of JNC Touge California as a company that champions driving, and we look forward to taking some of our Heritage Collection vehicles out on the open road to participate in North America’s only vintage Japanese car road rally.

Participants in the 2016 Touge California will have a rare tour of our collection of more than 50 historic Mazdas, including one-offs, Le Mans racecars, design concepts and prototypes. It’s our way of saying “thank you” for their commitment, like ours, to keeping enthusiasm for driving alive and well.

We could not think of a better company to partner with for this event. Mazda is a company that not only talks the talk, but drives the drive, so to speak, when it comes to understanding the joy that can stem from motoring. Will you join us for the ride? Here are photos and words from last year’s event. More information and registration can be found here.

Great news; kudos to Mazda! The only downside is that I brought the R130 last year…

Mazda gets it. Events like this (and vehicles like the Miata) are the reason Mazda’s high on my list for my next new car purchase.

Pretty cool that they’re supporting a grass roots event. Makes me miss my NA Miata.
