KIDNEY, ANYONE? The actual EF Civic from the world’s saddest Honda ad is now for sale

That little girl from the saddest Honda commercial in the universe may have missed out on her chance to drive her beloved EF Civic, but you don’t have to. The actual car used in the spot is now for sale on Craigslist San Francisco.

Like the parents in the commercial, the seller says that they don’t have space for the car anymore. “Just back from making a commercial for Honda!” the Craigslist ad says, with a link to the commercial.

The seller also reveals that Honda painted the car before filming, but keep in mind that a concours-level finish isn’t needed to make it look good on camera. It’s also a DX and an automatic, so had her heartless parents kept it, that kid would’ve likely been doing a B16 and 5-speed swap in the driveway somewhere down the road.

The 1991 Civic hatchback has 271,000 miles on it, but maintenance has apparently been kept up with, because according to the seller it doesn’t burn a drop of oil. It also has a slew of wear-and-tear parts all replaced within the last 50,000 miles. The asking price is $2,650, which isn’t exactly a steal but perhaps you’d be willing to pay a bit more for a the advertising provenance.

Thanks to gks for the tip.

    Hot damn!

Even without the “celebrity” status, the new parts and paint job make it well worth the $2650.

Agreed – if it’s in as good condition underneath, as it looks, then yeah, it’s worth it.

Might be common in CA., but here in the rust belt, uh-uh.

I got’s no money or space – so SOMEBODY get on that!

    If your kidney’s worth $2650, that’s really sad…

This has got to be fake news. If it was the real Honda, then tell me, where’s the band-aid on the fender huh? ?
