We like pig butts and we cannot lie. Rocky Auto has long been the purveyors of nostalgic Nissans prepped for the Modern Age. And although the focus of their bionic creations are typically S30 Zs or hakosuka with RB26 motors in either naturally aspirated or turbo form, this time they’ve chosen a butaketsu.

But this boar’s badonkadonk is anything but piggish. It might look like your typical shakotan 1976 Nissan Laurel 2000SGX on the outside, but Rocky Auto being Rocky Auto, you’ve got RB powahh! And not just any RB, the RB20DET so it can stay in the 2000cc class! And this KHC130 can be yours for ¥3,980,000, which translates to nearly $43,000, shipping not included.     This SGX would definitely be high on my wish list! 😛
    Only detail I don’t like is that the modern shifter. Then again: a complete in style big ass plexiglass shifter is not that expensive! 😀

    I’m a total sucker for late ’70s Datsun styling since I had my first ride was a ’78 510, but for $43k I’d at least expect the wires to be tucked and tied. I’m sure this thing is a hoot to drive, but it just seems to have a few too many loose ends for the price.

    Hmm Laurels will always be Boss but MkII’s and MkIII’s always do it for me on a C130, but hey I would say that LOL

    I love the laurel over the similar in style KenMary. Modern shifter is there most likely to show the shift pattern. A requirement for JCI in Japan.

    i like the overall appearance of the car, but under the hood is a different story. i was expecting to see irtbs with shiny polished air horns instead of the turdiest turd of the RB lineage there.

    Well as the article said the RB20 is in there so it can still stay in the 2000cc class. I love it everything about this car!

    OCTC – there was a four door version as well, but this one is just a bit prettier.

    The RB20 was created as a performance option for a 2000cc or below engine class in Japan. The displacement yields certain tax advantages.

    If you want to know if this is a good deal, you should ask the only man in the States who has one right now. I believe you guys did a piece on him a coule of years ago.

    KAdams- For an old Japanese cars, that price might be spot on. I remember Kev paid dearly for his “Fully restored” Hako, that had some VERY loose ends!
