Seeing those Isuzu P’ups coming off the boat, makes me wonder if those wonderful Japanese mini trucks will ever return. I had Mazda B and a Nissan 720 and miss them.
Yes, I know we have the Tacoma and Nissan trucks, but they’re not exactly mini.
FWIU the current Tacoma/Frontier are about the size the standard outside-North-America trucks are, and there are no longer any short-chassis models anywhere; in markets where a single cab is offered it’s supplied with a 7.5′ box on the same wheelbase as the extended cab/6′ box and crew cab/5′ box.
Dog year here… Second car I owned was a Red Chevy LUV (Isuzu). Made a few trips up & down the west coast in it n HS. A good move it was for GM. Isuzu engine have wound up in all kind of industrial applications. There’s a weird corner in my brain that still wants a Vehicross. I think they’re awesome.
That’s because they ARE awesome!
