One of the oddest Corolla body styles must have been the SR-5 Liftback, or what hipsters today would call a shooting brake. Essentially, it’s a wagon, but sporty because it has two doors. I still see one in my neighborhood here in LA every once in a while, and it puts a smile on my face every time. Also, is anyone else in the mood for pistachio ice cream? Happy TE51 Day from JNC!

Happy TE51 day !!
I have only seen one of these in person that I can remember. I have always thought they were super cool. It just looks like a car that would sound amazing revving to 8k RPM.
That’s the 3rd clue. I guess I’m a hipster. “Shooting brake”, I drink PBR and ride a singlespeed bike.
I do remember and love these SR-5 shooting brakes.
My family always had the coupes and sedans but this was better.
Nothing wrong with being a hipster!
Agreed! As of lunchtime today, just picked up a second singlespeed/fixed gear bike. Hipster Life š
That’s what I need. More exercise in less time and distance!
I personally think the design was influenced (rather, COPIED) from the Lancia Beta HPE that came out in 1975.
