The Nissan Fairlady Z is still the one. The original game-changer from the Land of the Rising Sun that set a new bar for sports cars in the 20th century. It’s beautiful from every angle, spanked not only the competition but cars that weren’t even in the same price bracket, and forever changed the world’s outlook on Japanese cars. That’s why on today, 5/30 we wish everyone a happy S30 Day from JNC!
The Fairlady Z begs the question, why did Nissan NOT bring the Skyline GT-R here when the 240Z became a hit? Did the American dealers say hard pass when they saw the Hako?
I miss my S30. In 2000, while deep into the Hondas with my EK and EG, a buddy of mine abandoned his S30 and S130 2+2.
He left them at his brother in law’s backyard and he went back to Alaska. He said I could have them and his brother and I started to get them going.
That was until we found out Tom (my friend) didn’t get the paperwork done and when we went to go look for the previous owner (older lady) she was gone.
It was my 1st time putting in soo much into getting the cars going (mostly time) and then parting them out.
Driving those 2 old cars made me love 70/80s cars and started to pull me from being a dedicated Honda guy.
