A few years ago Nissan had a little display at its Yokohama headquarters building, one that featured a 1969 510 Bluebird sedan. It was part of an exhibit called “Game Changers” and it’s hard to disagree. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate the awesomeness of this compact sedan today, May 10, otherwise known as 510 Day.
Equal time for the 410 and 411 family ?
Sorry, we missed it this time around. We’ll mark it on the calendar for next year.
Having driven the same year BMW 2002 & Datsun 510, the 510 was my favorite of the two. I felt it had a better steering ratio & feel among other things. Besides, it was a wagon. Bummer wasn’t.
I have liked the 510’s styling ever since I got that Hot Wheels one way back when. I will admit, in my younger days, my ignorance was quite evident, as I thought that Datsun was a German company.
Kudos, it takes a brave man to admit that!
Truthfully, 510 has always been a great car.
20yrs ago when I had my 280z and zx, I loved going to Datsun meets and seeing 510s. Even at that time they were really taken cared of.
It’s amazing even now to see well built 510s.
