The 1996 film Super-Woman was not in fact about an ultra-strong female hero, but a cashier who uncovers shady dealings at a rival supermarket chain. The Japanese love of abbreviation strikes again! The movie would be altogether unremarkable except for a climactic third act showcasing what might be the world’s only dekotora chase! Several Toyota sedans get thrown into the mix as well when our heroine finds herself trapped in the back of a freezer truck. Doesn’t the portly baddie know? You simply do not F with a guy driving a 10,000-watt Shinjuku on wheels. Oh well, at least he rocks some sweet Advan kicks.
I love the Ford Taurus station wagon at 1:10, so USDM!
Wicked Sick! 😀
It only lack’s some fine Eurobeat music background 😀
how come the first car that drives by is a white ford taurus wagon??
Japan loves their wagons. There was a time in the 90s when Taurus wagons were all the rage (like the inexplicable Chevy Astro Van craze). The question is, did anyone over there swap in the Yamaha SHO motor into a wagon, like C&D’s?
Dekotora are pretty much the coolest non-military trucks out there.
“The movie would be altogether unremarkable except for a climactic third act showcasing what might be the world’s only dekotora chase!”
Um….not quite.
Thats a videogame tho, i played it when i was in okinawa but its crazy fun
Still, proof that there is more than one Dekotora chase, albeit reversed and on a different format.
Very good article. I definitely love this website. Thanks!
