The Toyopet name lasted a lot longer in Japan than the US. That’s the badge on the back of this purple people eater, but it ain’t no pet. Looks more like a wild animal.
We are rapidly becoming Corona obsessed here at JNC. A while back I posted this super-clean silver T100 Corona. Everything was innocently bone stock except for the ride height, yet it looked evil, like some unblinking mute kid in a horror movie. This SSR MkIII-wearing, hako-spoilered, over-fendered, old-school-Kenwood-rockin’ Corona, on the other hand, isn’t even trying to hide it. Fifth-gensย don’t get enough respect.

Purple is also seriously underrated. Aggressive like red but classy like blue. The color of royalty. Looks amazing on this car.
Looks like a Corolla and an MX41 mixed together.
Very nice.
(Any pics of the rest of the show) ?
Only of the red Celica.
oooh…perfect.
Um, 1/64 it? ๐
the waiting times for the 1/64th line is rather long at the moment…
was this car available in the US? man, that looks sweet. i’d love to know about the engine hiding in there
It was but it seems to fly under everyone’s radar. 18R-C or 20R engine choices in the US.
That’s three bonertastic Toyotas in a row. You guys are on a roll.
LOL, didn’t even realize it. Just look at it as a balance to all the Nissan-centric coverage elsewhere ๐
Hey!
Seven out of the last eight posts have been Toyota! ๐
Dang, my personal biases are starting to show! And Yee… he’s just in love with the 2000GT.
Love is such a loaded word. I do feel that the 2000gt is one of the best looking cars ever made on the planet. =)
That sounds like love to me, buddy!
Yeah I agree, this car is pretty solid. Nice find~
i almost got one of these a few years back…
i ALWAYS thought it was another “poor-mans hakosuka” just like my mx32 ๐
love love love this one.
