Yesterday we showed you some Aoshima 1/6 models of vintage Japanese racing barrels. On the opposite end of the scale scale Aoshima offers these bosozoku sleds from the 1/64 Gurachan Collection. The series has been out for a while, but we just picked this one up at Japantown Collectibles in San Francisco. This kandy orange Nissan Fairlady 240ZG is a zoku’s wet dream, with bubble flares, S130 hood vents, integrated fiberglass spoiler, and C210 Skyline taillights. Even the wheels are Watanabes wrapped in real rubber.
Collectors of stock-looking cars will probably be disappointed, but the series offers several models that are near impossible to find otherwise… including a slammed GX61 Mark II/Cressida! The others in the series are a Celica 1600GT coupe, hakosuka Skyline 2-door, C130 Nissan Laurel and Mazda Savanna RX-3. And as you can see from the packaging, this is already the fifth series.
These look great but again I have been forgotten, no one does a model of my A112H Galant hardtop π
Tomica do a GA and GB galant coupes as well as a GTO or two in their 1:64 tomica vintage neo (?) range. Very detailed for such a little model. I picked a few up in Japan recently, nice and cheap too, only a few hundred Yen.
I too wish somebody did an A112H. I’d paint it up to match my real one π
Hey TJ. I have a few GTO’s and a GB hardtop but can’t seem to find a GC/D hardtop anywhere. I have seen a sedan but it wasn’t for sale π
I want the white Laurel! That series saves us a lot of time because we won’t have to lower stock models ourselves. π
These are beyond cool, especially the kermit colored RX3!
Those are often the first things to go when I set up my toy table at JCCS–they’re gone within the first hour.
