Toyota GT-One arrives in Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7‘s latest update packs some serious horsepower. Notably, it marks the return of the Toyota GT-One, among the most beautiful and the most tragic Le Mans racers of the last 25 years. The 780-horsepower monster was a force to be reckoned with in previous installments of the racing simulator, and we expect that trend to continue.

The GT-One wears the Esso Ultron livery of the 1999 No.3 car, driven by Ukyo Katayama, Toshio Suzuki, and Keiichi Tsuchiya. It placed second, and would have likely gotten first had it not been for an unfortunate tire blowout. The GT-One has been a mainstay of the series since Gran Turismo 2, and infamously appeared in a sinister all-black test car paint scheme in Gran Turismo 4.

Other cars added to this update are a Lamborghini Urus and an Audi R8, just days after the very last real R8 rolled off the assembly line. The Toyota GT-One can be found in the Legends area of the game and, unlike the real one, you can actually buy it for a mere 2.5 million credits.
