Our friends at JDM Legends have been hard at work on a project they plan to debut this Saturday at JCCS. As you can see from this teaser photo, it’s a Mazda RX-7, but it ain’t just any 7. When completed, it’ll be a 1:1 scale version based on the Hot Wheels car that came out early this year!
As you know, the Hot Wheels car was inspired by the IMSA RX-7s that were so dominant in the IMSA GTU class back in the late 70s and early 80s, so the fellas at JDM Legends had to track down a long out-of-production IMSA kit and a custom Mariah spoiler. The finished car will have graphics inspired by the Hot Wheels, and promises to be one insane machine. Luckily they fitted some much much nicer wheels than they put on that Hot Wheels rx7, lol. I love the new Hot Wheels cars, but damn, atleast put a Watanabe or Longchamp looking wheel on them!
