New cell phone carrier commercial features Datsun 240Z

A new commercial for cellphone carrier Boost Mobile features a nice, lightly modified Datsun sports car. The rest of the spot features music, a lot of sweet moves, and someone maybe named Pitbull? We don’t know, we’re old, like that guy quietly polishing his 240Z.

You really have to admire the color coordination here. The orange Z matches the clothes, newspaper boxes, and benches found on this particular street. In any case, time with your JNC is precious. May we all have the zen-like temperament to ignore the entire block erupting in inexplicable dancing while we are focused on caring for our cars.

Thanks to Byron Y. for the heads up.

Not difficult to do. In fact, if I had seen this commercial without the heads up, I probably would not have noticed what the commercial is for.

I have to admit not having the faintest about what the connection was between the suddenly-dance-afflicted and a mobile telephone service provider. Weird. Love the Datto.

The “Boost Mobile” 240z caught my eye on about the 3rd viewing of the ad. The very first Z I ever drove was a ‘72 and that same orange back in the mid 70s. It was immediate love and I quickly bought a blue ‘72 240 even on my meager college income, I still have it 45 years later! Original engine and trans as well. I think I paid $3500 for it back then.
