Toyota has put up a mysterious teaser that promises a big reveal on October 13 at 1:00 pm local time. The image shows the logos of all the company’s main brands: Toyota, Lexus, Century, Gazoo Racing, and Daihatsu. On the Toyota website there’s a countdown timer that says:
The sign at Fuji Speedway has changed.
On the left, 2000GT
Next to it, LFA
Next to that… ?
It sure seems like they’re hinting at a sports car that can carry on the tradition of super-high end flagships.
The reveal will be livestreamed in the embedded video above. It might be the Toyota GT3 race car, which was recently seen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in both race and street guises emitting the deep rumble of a turbo V8. A previous report by Best Car magazine said the car could debut at the end of 2025.
Or could it be the Lexus LFR? A concept version called simply the Lexus Sport Concept was recently revealed at Monterey Car Week. Either way, it’s curious that such a reveal would come weeks before the Japan Mobility Show (formerly the Tokyo Motor Show), where carmakers usually unveil their most important vehicles. We shall be waiting with bated breath.
