With Tokyo Tower looming in the background, the streets in front of the Imperial Palace were absolutely teeming in 1967. Four lanes of traffic in each direction couldn’t keep the stream of Crowns, Cedrics, Glorias, Bluebirds, Publicas, and Minicas flowing. For the sporting driver, there’s even a Sora Blue Fairlady Roadster in the bottom right. This postcard from the era showed just how quickly Japan was motorizing in the Golden 60s.

Lower left corner, looks like a Datsun 410 or 411 making a left turn.
It’s 1967 and a Mazda T2000, the three wheeled truck in the lower right, is still running the streets. The intersections still don’t have crosswalks painted on them, no crosswalk signals as well as well as traffic lights that are of an unusually sparse design for Tokyo. Pedestrians are crossing willy-nilly. Looks like a Honda N360 a few cars behind the T2000 with a bunch of stuff stacked on the roof. Unusually few number of cabs in the shot. In 1967, US military bases were still abundant in the area but there is not a hint of an American boat.
