Here, have a sad. This is what happens at Japanese junkyards every day. In this case, a perfectly decent-looking MX41 Toyota Chaser, a 2-door version of the Cressida that we never got, is introduced to the Grim Crusher. It was obviously loved at some point, as it wears a set of Wats, but those are removed before the car is unceremoniously dumped on its side to be gutted. Then it’s dumped into a crusher and emerges moments later as a brick of steel.
Japanese vehicle registration laws are quite strict, and often perfectly good cars are crushed simply because they don’t have the proper title or paperwork to be resold to the public. Or exported. There, your day is ruined. Thank Banpei.
I’ll bet (hope) that quite a few cars have been saved by those guys, who said,'”I just can’t do it, I’ll buy it!”. I hope.
The bad thing is that it is carelessly stripped in 60 minutes. Imagine all those good quality parts taken off the car without much care and then sold off on http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp… I think we all bought some those damaged parts from there in the past and now you know where they come from…
On the other had I did buy a lot of good stuff there as well, so I can’t really complain! 🙂
im with coupeZ600 on this, in fact, I think that by law all guys that work these crushers should be car guys
Ugh. That sucks the big one. It looked so clean.
What I don’t understand is how the crushed block comes out without any turquoise/blue paint on it whatsoever. I suppose the crushing probably makes it flake off, but i’d think something would still be on there.
Regardless, I’m still sad. Especially about the good parts they DIDN’T remove that still could have been used.
Oh my god how sad is that
Thats just a shame. Think of all the people who would want to pick up those classics. They would be well loved by a lot of people
OH THE HUMANITY !!!!
That looked to be in better condition than what your typical starving engineer drives.
Condolences, for the Toyota Chaser MX41,I must try not to sell my Japanese classic cars to the scrap yard guys.I can’t stand to see the rare Japanese classic cars were crushed, and it will make the rare classic cars extinct.
I think I’m gonna be sick….
…wow…thats worse than wrong…an outright atrocity!!!!
Japanese always strip a car on it’s side.that’s why alot of motors smoke when you crank them up.I worked in a recycle yard for a summer and it was he’ll.cut up beautiful cars.rained everyday and had a pig farm across the street.I took my time dismantling.I would have a stripped shell in 1 day.
And I wanted those mirrors they left on there!
I would set the whole car on wheels and unbolt everything then use the crane to lift a shell and toss it.
But I never chopped any classics just skylines and silvia’s .so it never hurt as much to crush them.
