JCCS 2011 PREVIEW: Debut of Enkei’s Classic Series Apache II

Another debut that will take place this weekend at JCCS is that of the reborn Enkei Apache II. This will be the third wheel in Enkei’s Classic Series line of revived vintage designs, hot on the heels of the Enkei 92 meshie and the Enkei J-Speed. Here is a set of 15×8+0 on JNC‘s Project Z. Come see our 1972 Datsun 240Z at the Enkei booth this Saturday. Click through to watch a video Enkei’s Alex Nunez talking about available sizes, finishes, and release dates. The stampede of vintage barrels continues!

Very nice wheels, like it a lot! Sadly not legal in Austria, but nobody will notice I guess…

  2. Nigel says:

Another set of wheels that look good on a Z.
(Is that the JNC wagon I see in the background)?

  3. probably i should re-think my planned wheel choice 🙂

  4. Stevester says:

These Vintage replicas look nice but I wish Enkei would also use the same original construction, spun barrels/halves with welded/bolt in centers. That’s what made the originals special, 3- (and 2-) piece wheels at a little more than cast wheel prices for us poorer folks who could not afford the BBS’s, Gottis, and Epsilons…

  5. Jim says:

How about a shot of those wheels on a 3/4 angle? I’d like to see how far they stick out on a Z.

  6. Ray says:

Yes Angle shot on Z, and a close one too. Thanks

  7. ylee says:

fabulous. now i must sell my set of rims that i just bought.

  8. seventhskyline says:

Mediocre sizes and its a faux-piece wheel…seriously expected more.

    • RotaryRocket says:

Frankly, I don’t see Enkei selling a lot of 15×10 three piece wheels and making a profit. There are not many people with aggressive flares on their cars. We are lucky companies are bringing back some of these old designs at affordable prices.

  9. seventhskyline says:

They’re not bringing back anything, this wheel NEVER existed. Something that looked similar but was constructed completely different and available in a totally different range of sizes did.

Work and Rays have shown real faith in the vintage market with the CR-01 and TE37V, SSR-Tanabe are still making traditionally manufactured wheels…Why not Enkei?
Are they even Japanese or are these out of the Enkei-Advanti Shanghai/Suzhou plants??

    • RotaryRocket says:

I sleep well at night knowing the wheel police is out there protecting my rights to spend $2500 on a set of JDM three piece wheels, driving slow so I don’t dent them.
