I bought a new ’77 Challenger in 1977. It looked exactly like the one in the picture, and I absolutely loved it…. EXCEPT for the engine. It was so under-powered it was an embarrassment. The car “felt” like it was dragging on the ground as it struggled to move the over-bearing weight of the body. After several months, I made a sign for the back window in which I apologized to anyone following me up an incline. Yet, everyone I knew loved how it looked. And you know what? I miss that car!
