TUNE UP: A Mazda RX-7 appears in a Japanese boy band video

Once again we remain utterly clueless about the song or the artist portrayed in the video called “44 Raiders” by the Ballistik Boyz from Exile Tribe. We can only tell you that there is a Mazda RX-7 in it, and it looks very similar to a recent Tokyo Auto Salon winner.

To be clear, this is not the RE-Amemiya bullpin RX-7 that won the Tuning Car class at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January. It’s just a very similar build. There seems to be a theme in Ballistik Boyz videos: lots of sultry looks, dancing, and then a random classic car. In another video filmed in Los Angeles, a 1970s Mercury Comet becomes the star car. If you want to check out the car, we’ve queued up the video to the timestamp, to spare you the actual music., where the RX-7 can be seen.
