Here’s a sneak peek at the latest Hot Wheels model to wear the JNC inkan, a Datsun 620 pickup. This one, however, will be unlike previous Datsun 620s in that it will feature in the 2016 Car Culture premium lineup, which means it will have a new metal base casting and retro slot wheels.
The Car Culture lineup already includes the highly anticipated Japan Historics series, but this li’l nostalgic hustler is not part of that. It will be in its own segment for trucks. Designd by Jun Imai, it is finished with graphics by Steve Vandervate — era-appropriate turquoise with gold JNC inkan and a dash of hot rodder stripes — it promises to be among the most sought after models of the year. Once again, a big thanks to Jun, Steve and the rest of the Mattel team for making this possible!

YAY !! more JNC hot wheels…. always always a good thing… but come on guys I understand that “everyone” excluding just me I guess thinks datsuns are the end all be all of existence … they are cool, make no mistake. but can we get another Toyota… perhaps even just a regular release of the dark blue Celica from the elusive “3 pack” on a regular card…. just sayin, at least 11 probably more variations on the datsun 510/620/240 in recent history.

The blue Celica will come out this year hopefully in singles. Also hope be a part of Japanese Historic. What Im wishing for is for a Celica LB for I can customize it 😉 Yes we need to see more different models not just recolors. There other JDM need to be recognized. But great work Hot Wheels team

WIsh they would make up a few JNC Box Sets and/or Toyota/Datsun etc. 5 box sets.
Now if only we can get Round 2/MPC to resurrect their 1/25 scale 620 model kit with all the stock parts.
Looks like they borrowed the paint design from the LSR Datsun 620 owned by Riter Restorations in East Rochester NY.
