KIDNEY, ANYONE? 7k-mile FD3S Mazda RX-7

An amazing specimen of a third-gen Mazda RX-7 is currently being offered for sale on Craigslist. According to the ad, its interior still emanates that new car leather smell, because it has just 6,593 original miles on the clock.

Unfortunately, the user uploaded only low-resolution photos, but from what can be seen the car is a clean as the mileage would suggest. The seller, who is the second owner, says that they have all documents for the car.

It’s a Touring model, which means it has a sunroof, leather interior, and a Bose stereo system that winds through the already small trunk area like a python. Though it’s not the more performance-oriented R1 package, which comes with a stiffer suspension, rear wing, and strut tower brace, it does have the same 252-horsepower twin-turbo 13B. And although an automatic transmission was available, this one has the proper gearbox for such a vehicle, a 5-speed manual.

FD3S Mazda RX-7s are known for their brittle interiors, especially the plastic bits whose finishes are easily blemished by nothing more than a mere glance. This car, however, exhibits none of that wear, as it is essentially unused.

The car, located in central Oregon, is being offered for $59,000. While that price seems steep, higher mileage clean examples have asked $50,000 at exotic car dealers. As one of the most beautiful and finest-driving sports cars ever created, the RX-7 was built with lightness as a goal and served as the pinnacle of rotary engine performance. As such, many examples were modified for racing, as well as less noble exploits, making FD3S examples like this among the last of its kind. See the ad on Craigslist.
