In the US, Toyota gives us two doofus brothers dreaming about racing Monaco in a pair of Camrys and Prius getaway vehicles. They are the worst commercials ever. Toyota Latin America, on the other hand, features a trio of rather comely women in a FJ40 Land Cruiser touring Colombia and a pair of mustachioed 70s dudes in a TE27 Corolla.
Actually the host, Ximena Córdoba, is a Colombian actress and model, Carolina Padron is an ESPN sportscaster, and Iivi Ween is a YouTube star.
The quality of this video is poor, but it’s worth showing that they were able to source not one, but two TE27s, and — more importantly — one of them actually has a functioning radio. Why do we get stuck with the lame ones?

Car advertisements in general are pretty unimaginative and borderline asinine. I’ve seen some Japanese ads which were creative and funny…….. quite the exception.
Nice,but no match for Toyota New Zealand’s many excellent commercials.
I came for the old Toyotas but stayed for the pretty women.
Also, that Camry Monaco ad is absurd.

I remember cutting the dash with a hacksaw when I installed my Craig 8-track in my TE27 Corolla SR5 back in 1979…
(The dash was damaged when my car was broken into and they stole the original 8-track when my parents bought the car in 1974, and it was replaced with a new panel minus the radio)
