VIDEO: Australia, a RWD Toyota paradise

Imagine a world just like ours, except that RWD Toyotas are everywhere, people still refer to their cars as “good ol’ girl,” and the “Oh What a Feeling!” jump at the end of Toyota ads never went away. The dream of the 80s is alive in Australia.

Toyota Australia continues its series of videos on Toyota drivers and their cars, proving once again that they are cooler Down Under. Justin, the owner of a 1974 Corolla, was inspired to get one after seeing his brother’s and neighbor’s Corollas. He bought one for himself 15 years ago and hasn’t looked back.

Luke, the owner of a 1968 Crown Wagon, calls his car “a bit of a rare vehicle.” A bit rare? They are basically nonexistent in North America. He also calls it the “fast fridge” because of its 7M turbo-swapped straight six and because Australians have a good sense of humor.

And if that’s not enough, just add this to the previous videos in the series. Can we move to Australia?

I love the ‘Westinghouse” badge on the Crown wagon; a very nice touch.

‘Can we move to Australia?’ – You have my permission Ben, but you might also need to speak with others.

I’m with you – I want to move to Australia too.

Its Luke here, the fast fridge is 7MGTE powered… The billet covers make it look JZ, there is a snippet of the 7JZ oil cap,

The 7JZ Oil cap and the fridge badge are just some subtle gags..

Thanks for the coverage glad you like the car, happy to forward more pictures.

Actually, these videos were produced by a good friend in Toyota Australia named Blake Jones. He writes for Speedhunters as well. Give him a shout over there.

    Thanks Luke for chiming in!
