TOUGE CALIFORNIA: Roundels not round this year

Touge California has a tradition of using large magnetic roundels to identify cars participating in the rally. They are not for sale and only available to participants of the event. For this year’s event, which will take place July 15, the roundel is not quite round. That’s because we are proud to be partnering with Mazda for the 50th year of the rotary engine

The rounded triangle is literally the center piece of this most amazing, piston-less engine, and has come to embody Mazda’s long tradition of innovation. Likewise, the “I Survived” sticker, given only to cars that complete the rally, are also rotor-themed.

Next year we will return to your regularly scheduled roundel. The “rotor-el” is a one-time occurrence, never to be repeated again. Unless we are still doing this in 2067.
