UPDATE: That 1960 Prince Skyline is on its way to Japan for restoration

Just a quick update about the rare 1960 LHD Prince Skyline that was found in an Idaho junkyard. In an Facebook update yesterday by Alexis Campos, who discovered the car originally. It reads “I have received numerous amount of messages, phone calls, emails about the Prince! Didn’t think this would blow up like it did. Today, the Prince is officially sold! It will be on its way to Japan ?.” [UPDATE: According to the yard, the car has been paid for and they are looking for wheels to slap on so it can be shipped to Japan immediately.] To everyone who helped get the word out about this rare car, great work helping saving this car. Hopefully we’ll see it at a car show in Japan in a few years!

I think we all need good news like this in our lives.

That’s really good news! I would love to see it restored!

These are the stories I love to read when I see these cars.

The story of restoring and rebuilding… rather than junking. It always captivates me.

On a personal note – when I picked up the Project car magazine M30, it was in rough condition. It could easily been a car to part out and junk. But I always feel there is merit in restoring/saving cars. Doing a restomod on a chassis I love (F chassis) is inspired by these type of stories.

What a great story. I’ve always took on projects to make sure it left my garage in a better condition. My love for all things vintage extends to among other things boats. Unfortunately, the combination of an exceedingly harsh environment & ambivalence to heritage leaves so many beautiful boats to rot. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve approached a shop & the first thing out of their mouth is “I don’t work on anything before 1990.” Kudos to everyone that keeps these legacy vehicles alive!

Terrific! Good to see someone else appreciates it for what it is.

Awesome! I hope whoever restores it posts up updates somewhere. It’d be very interesting to see how it goes.

  7. Early Mazda ute wheels will fit these.

Someone alert Noriyaro to go to all car shows in a few years and look out for this car.

Do you guys know if this will be a traditional restoration or a restomod? It’d be kind of weird but hilarious if they did the exterior properly and then threw a 2JZ into it.

Having owned some 30 plus Princes (Skyline 1500 – Gta – GTB – Gloria) in my lifetime. That is no doubt the most beautiful 4 door sedan of the era
