Suzuki Motor is commemorating a century of business with an extremely limited production motorcycle helmet. Based on an Arai RX-7X, the helmet is finished in Suzuki’s MotoGP racing colors with the words “100th Anniversary” printed along the chin guard. It’s also limited to 100 pieces worldwide.
Technically Suzuki was founded in 1909, making 2019 the official 100th anniversary, but what’s a couple of years when you have a century of history. The helmet features the logo of Suzuki’s MotoGP machine, the GSX-RR, on the sides with a large “Suzuki” logo across the back.
Right now, the only region where the helmet’s purchasing process has been detailed is Japan. The entire country is getting only 30 units, 10 each in M, L, and XL sizes. To even get the privilege to purchase one at the cost of ¥143,000 ($1,260 USD), you’ll have to win a lottery drawing first. The application period lasts from January 11 to 25, 2022, and if you live in Japan you can sign up at Suzuki’s Japanese website. Winners will be announced January 31.
That leaves 70 units for the rest of the world. Size breakdowns have not been announced yet, nor have breakdown by country, or procurement details. If you’re a die-hard Suzuki fan and absolutely must have this once-in-a-lifetime piece, it’s probably a good idea to start talking to your local dealer. Consider this post fair warning.
