For those that may be new to JNCs, we want to encourage any and all to post questions related to the history, buying or repair of JNCs. We all have to start somewhere, so why not here with a wealth of knowledge (and proven mistakes!) to learn from? Feel free to ask questions in our first beginner’s corner post, along any other tips you’re looking for in general. On the flip side, we also encourage our readers to comment on those questions and requests.

We’ve all been overzealous with our builds, perhaps getting an itch to do a bit of dress up on our pride and joy. Last week, we asked what sins of the wallet and how much time was lost due to an unnecessary parts install. Pippin Osborne started off with an R34 turbo timer with good intentions of oil temperature management but was distracted by another: the lure of a trackable 300ZX. Bryan Pichardo rightly called this “a great problem to have.” KiKilchiban mentioned a Hello Kitty cup holder install. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there, friend.
In an upset, Brian90 just eked out a win over jivecom with his installation of an ETC card device. Jive’s story of useless mudflaps had us laughing with the hologram comment, but it was Brian with the all-too-common experience of hearing the kind, yet annoying voice of the ETC system telling the driver there is no card in the ETC machine that takes the cake. In two of my previous cars, I have disconnected the speaker wire for the system. To have one wired up while not even using ETC in your country is a new level of unnecessary.
In my ae80 a Panasonic ETC (electronic toll collector) where a lady’s voice telling me that i have no card inserted in japanese roughly 30 secs after i start the car. Even though where i stay there’s no tolls, but yeah. i like the fact that it adds to the JDM car tech vibe thingy lol

I think if anything, I’m envious of one getting started in JNC’s now. There sheer volume of information and resources is fantastic. The “Information Highway” was a paddle boat going upstream back in the day. It made for a different kind of fun in a detective way, but in the end, today you can get the car out of the garage you and everyone to enjoy it sooner and often.

Only thing I wonder:
Mr Hsu strictly ignored my intention to sell a fine Toyota Corolla KE 70 ( 1982/83 )
in a “near mint” condition. WHY ?

Why is it finding the results on the internet for the Tomica of a certain car is easier than finding specs for the real car? Case in point: Mitsubishi Colt Galant HT .GS, Honda Civic GL (First-gen) and not completely unsurprisingly, the Isuzu TXG10 fire engine. If anyone here can give me specs on the first 2 and maybe a range of production years for the fire engine, that would be most helpful, and please post your sources if you can!
Regarding the TXG10, you really have to dive into Japanese to pull info up. especially since most info is actually listed as the TXD (most common I think).
P.S. the “TXD” and “TXG” stand for Diesel and Gasoline.

What I want to know is how to title a JNC car in Japan when it is missing its paperwork. So many JNCs are here in Japan super cheap but they lack paperwork and so no one knows anything on how to get a car titled when its title is lost.
