ART CORNER: Learn how to color like concept car artists, courtesy of Nissan

Have you ever wanted to draw cars like professional designers? Specifically, using color to light the car so it jumps off two-dimensional paper like a proper three-dimensional object? To help kids (and adults) deal with more coronavirus quarantine time, Nissan has released a series of coloring tutorials to help you achieve that pro look in your automotive illustrations.

There are six downloadable cars total, each with instructions. Admittedly, some of the work, like the outline of the car, for instance, is already done. So if you were hoping to learn how to conjure something gorgeous entirely from scratch like Syd Mead, well, that’s going to take many more lessons. But hey, it’s a start!

Additionally, Nissan has released some more coloring pages that didn’t make the cut in their recently released coloring book. Some of those include an R35 GT-R and a Datsun Violet rally car. You can download them here. And if you want to color cars from other marques, there are also pages from Mazda, Subaru, Isuzu, and Lexus.
