There has been a Nissan Z in almost every Marvel movie

The fact that a Datsun Bluebird Wagon played a significant role in a Marvel production gave us a pretty good chuckle last week. However, it’s not the only Nissan to have appeared in the Marvel cinematic universe. Eagle eyed moviegoers may have noticed that, in fact, a Nissan has appeared in almost every Marvel movie and TV show. Have you seen it?

It takes place in Marvel Studios logo animation at the beginning of their movies, in the quick scroll of comic book pages. Among them, an illustration of what is clearly a Nissan 350Z flickers past. It looks to be traveling at a brisk clip, and there’s a person either jumping into or getting tossed out of it. Blink and you’ll miss it.

We don’t know which comic that was from or which artist drew it, but perhaps a JNCer who’s also an avid Marvel fan can tell us. It’s pretty cool that, out of the millions of panels Marvel has published in their comics through the years, this was one of the few selected to appear in the production logo. It’s also kind of hilarious, because often these movies have huge product placement deals with other brands. Yet, this Nissan Z will always manage to sneak in.

I’m convinced that’s Frank Castle, FKA The Punisher.

As far as I can see the Flipbook intro first appeared in 2013 and Punisher Max ran from 2010 – 2012 which would put it in the right year range.

If any JNCers have access to an online comics library and want to take a look it only ran for 22 issues.

    Good luck.
