NEWS: Carlos Ghosn is officially out at Mitsubishi Motors

After orchestrating a 34 percent buyout of Mitsubishi Motors by Nissan in 2016 and installing himself as chairman of both companies, Carlos Ghosn is now out of both. Mitsubishi Motors’ board voted today to remove Ghosn from his leadership position, following Nissan’s lead after their board voted last Thursday.

Ghosn was arrested a week ago, accused of under-reporting his income to the Japan securities commission, and allegedly misusing company funds for a series of luxury homes around the world and paying relatives for consulting that didn’t seem to materialize in actual work. So far, there has not been any change to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, but that could all change.
