NEWS: 2020 Toyota Supra leaked ahead of official reveal

The production 2020 Supra wasn’t supposed to be shown until next Monday at the Detroit Auto Show, but a leaked video reveals the A90 in all its un-camouflaged glory. Toyota Mexico accidentally tweeted the video below, showing the Supra in action.

We say accidentally because the tweet has since been deleted, but it read “¡Llegó nuestro nuevo #Supra a Japón!, y esta es la historia que nos cuenta #AkioToyoda sobre su regreso.” That translates to “Our new #Supra arrived in Japan! And this is the story that #AkioToyoda tells us about his return.” Luckily, everything on the internet is forever, and the video was soon reposted to YouTube for all to see. We will have more coverage from Detroit on Monday, as Toyota should be revealing details to go along with the car. In the meantime, here are some more screenshots.

Ummm… That rear “ducktail” spoiler is awful when viewed from the rear. How did that get past anyone with a pair of eyeballs in the management level of the styling team?

Other than that it’s a handsome car.

Hope that BMW engine works out for them.

  2. Eric P says:

Looks like a modern Toyota 2000gt. Nice

  3. Mike in Long Beach says:

Very purposeful design imho, including the kind of weird ducktail which mite look a little less weird in a rear view from a higher angle. I especially like the rear fender treatment. Its a nice original flourish.

  4. Negishi no Keibajo says:

Nice, but too busy for my taste. The tail and grill doesn’t grab me. Maybe in a different color…
I agree with Eric; a nod to the 2000GT.

  5. Evil Elf says:

None of these “leaks” are accidental.

The Ford GT and Mercedes-Benz SLS are perfect examples of what happens when a car company ACTUALLY wants to keep something under-wraps.
