Random Japan sighting: Isn’t it nice to know the Corona wagons employed by Denso are still in service? I thought these were KE70 Corollas originally but apparently they are Coronas!

    Wagon FTW!

  2. Bob says:

    That is really cool.

  3. Slag says:

That’s a Corona, surely? T170 according to wikipedia.

  4. Nigel says:

Ultimate money saver, fix what you have and keep it going.

  5. oldtamiyaphile says:

It is a KE70 Corolla, you can see it’s quite small by comparing it to that Kei van. The Corona wagon had almost perfectly square tail lights:

Ben, close to LTO in Yokohama, there’s an old school car lot and right beside it is a nissan tuner garage that currently have some Z31 and 350Z for daily use that will put some tuner from the state intos shame.

  7. Ben says:

oldtamiyaphile – I think Slag was right… the KE70 wagon has a slight upturn at the base of the D-pillar, the Corona doesn’t.

    Sal – what’s LTO?

  8. oldtamiyaphile says:

I was thinking maybe the JDM version didn’t get the D-pillar kick up, but I think it’s a Corona now, after finding this one from a better angle:

But oddly the Denso wagon has an upswept waist line, which these Aussie build versions don’t appear to. The D pillar treatment is different to anything I can find regardless.

  9. Sal says:

LTO is Land Transportation Office. Under route 16 if coming form Yokosuka (south) exit on Shimokawai to get into route 45, make a left and drive all the way down. Turn Right when you see NEC (landmark) on your left. Couple meters away you’ll see shop located on your left side. Have you been to Upgarage in Yokohama?
